I love teaching Yoga one to one because I find it immensely satisfying to identify the needs of my clients and create an individual program that supports their unique disposition, level of skill and fitness. Some people are eager to jump in and embrace a steep learning curve so that they can master the fundamental techniques and principles of Yoga in a short time and then have top up sessions monthly. Others prefer a slower, steadier approach of fortnightly sessions where they come to learn and embody the fundamentals of Yoga and then fine tune their practise.

If you would like to see me as a couple or say, as mother and daughter for a shared session, which is a fantastic way to learn and share quality time with each other, the other person comes FREE of charge. I can then additionally teach you a series of Yoga asanas designed specifically for two people to deepen and strengthen their practice.

My main aim is to inspire and encourage you to develop your own regular Yoga practice - whatever works for you, whether it is a long session at weekends, 15 minutes everyday before work or half an hour to relax you before sleeping. The longer I have both practised myself and worked with clients, the more I have recognised that there are no hard and fast rules. While I am here to help you keep on track, I am no taskmaster although I am aware, like most of you, that sometimes we neglect those things that we know would support our wellbeing the most.

* I have been recommended yoga by my doctor to address a specific health issue

* I used to practice yoga many years ago but am finding it difficult to motivate myself to start again

* I do some yoga at home but just feel I am going through the motions

* I am pregnant and want to nourish my body and feel more connected

* I really want to develop my own practice 2 / 3 times a week and know I need quality support to achieve it

How I work with you

The advantage of a one to one Yoga session is that we can work together to tailor the practise to meet your individual needs physically, emotionally and spiritually. You can therefore develop a level of awareness, fitness and flexibility at your own pace in a natural and healthy way. It is a unique opportunity to discover more about yourself on all levels and significantly transform your physique and fitness.

I can also teach you the Kriyas, a special set of breath exercises that purify and clear the energy channels, together with the powerful meditative breath practise, Pranayama. I also offer Dancework for a more dynamic release if necessary and teach the healing power of sound as in Mantra Yoga.

The practise is one hour long, beginning with conscious relaxation, followed by a series of physical warm up exercises with breath control, bringing awareness to the chakras (energy centres) of the body. We continue with a selection of asanas (hatha yoga postures) whilst tuning the bodymind system to receive revitalising energies. The session is completed with a deep healing relaxation to quiet and calm the mind. The yoga practise is suitable for beginners at any level of fitness and for those who wish to further explore yoga and the chakra system.

My Fees

In consideration of the recession I have reduced my fees and am charging £55 for a one hour session and £70 for 90 mins. If you would like me to teach you privately in your own home or place of work, travel time and expenses are charged for visits. If finances are a concern but there is enthusiasm and commitment to develop your Yoga practice, then I am happy to consider a reduction in my fees.

Like any professional offering a service I have a 48 hour cancellation policy - the whole fee will be charged for the lesson unless you give me 48 hours notice or there are extenuating circumstances.
